As luck (ha!) would have it, the *one* day all month that W is absolutely NOT able to take the day off is...tomorrow -- aka Transfer Day!
Tomorrow is the last day of classes -- she has lunch with the Dean, followed by 4 hours of classes (that she teaches, the topic of which is "closure" - ha!) and then a mandatory dinner with her teaching team and some Harvard big-wigs. So, thats what our *idyllic* transfer day will look like. I guess this baby (please!) will be forced to deal with our hectic schedule from day -1.
And over on the embie front: 3 of the 4 seem to be doing "ok" -- (which is not a great sign, given that Dr H is prone to being overly positive). We didnt get a rating (maybe a good thing) but basically there was one 6-cell, that was growing quickly, but "awkwardly" (??) and then two 4-cell embies that were slower but seemed to be of higher-quality (??). SO, we had the option of putting 1 or 2, so (duh!) we are transferring BOTH of the 4-cells tomorrow (Day 3). Thanks to your comments, I feel completely at peace with the Day 3 transfer.
This has been nowhere NEAR a text-book perfect cycle but we are trying to keep up hope that our under-dog embies have a shot....slow and steady, right?

Yikes! So she IS going in on the one day she can't take off?? At least it's not a retrieval...and the transfer doesn't require rest afterwards.
ReplyDeleteIf memory serves, embryos at day 2 should have 4 even cells, so you're looking good for a transfer of 2 good embryos. We got our G with a 3-day, 2 embryo transfer. ;)
Post soon and GOOD LUCK!!!!
best of luck tomorrow, crazy as it may be!
ReplyDeletegood luck! fingers crossed...
ReplyDeleteHooray!!! Good luck!!!! My embryologist said you would rather have a great 4 cell than a mediocre 6 or 8 cell so I would not worry!
