Weekend glow

It was a good weekend, a very good weekend. There were some + betas, and some good ultrasounds and, for us, some good follicle growth - and addition to all of that there was a TON of family fun. I had several moments this weekend where I found myself grinning from ear-to-ear, awash with gratitude, love and pure joy. It was a nice chance to recognize how happy we are in our current family configuration. Not that we are not still totally obsessed with what will transpire over the next 2 weeks, but I am so very grateful for my supportive, inspiring wife, and spunky, funny daughter.

We hosted a graduation BBQ with our closest friends and W's immediate family yesterday. We set up the kiddy pool on the lawn and pulled the mini-slide and water table on-to our deck -- adults even took a splash in the former. It was hot, but lovely to be together, celebrating W and our lives. Six years ago we decided to move east from the Bay Area -- a move I very much dreaded and (continue) to challenge. Yesterday, seeing the deep friendships that Izzy has with children of our oldest and most important people, was such a clear sign that we made the right decsion. A lot of bloggers are writing about LGBT family today -- and yesterday was a perfect example of how we have created, nurtured and are sustained by our intentional family. I feel so lucky!

In other news (because what would a post without a TTC update be...), W will trigger tonight (!!) for a Wednesday retrieval. Her E2 is 1300, for those of you who remember where we were last time, that 1000 more than last cycle. Dr H thinks we will get the same number of eggs (6-8) but believes they are of better quality. Probably means another Day-3 transfer but we are feeling hopeful, optimistic and at peace that we have done all we can.
