Five of the six blasts were still growing but none made it to "freeze criteria" so all were discarded. I am bummed that we dont have any left for a potential next cycle, but W is devastated that it speaks to the poor quality of the eggs overall. The embryologist was careful to explain that the lack of frosties did NOT mean doom-and-gloom or that the ones transferred wouldn't thrive. As she explained, they transferred "the best" (duh!) so didn't have "the best" left for freezing. Makes sense but still not the news we were hoping for.

This same thing happened to my friend and she was sure she would get neg result but she got a positive and is currently pregnant!
ReplyDeleteSame thing happened to my wife and I. We got 16 eggs, 15 fertilized, 6 made it to day three, two of which we implanted with the same grading as yours. And none of the other four made it to freeze. And now I am 14 weeks preggo with a baby girl :) You never know.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have any to freeze. And our little girl is kicking me right now. Our clinic usually gets a good number of 3-days to freeze, but their criteria is really high for 6-days, and there are often none to freeze - I don't think that is unusual!
ReplyDeleteSame here--no frosties, only ok embies: beautiful, perfect baby girl. Hoping for the same (or boy, obvs) for you!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really disappointing. But it sounds like the odds are good that you won't need any more.... Fingers crossed!
