Remember the No-Low Cycle? Well, clearly W's body took our in-attention to heart and decided on "no" -- She started POAS this weekend, each day hoping we wouldn't get the smilely until Weds am. When it didnt show up on Weds we thought it was odd, but figured we were in store for a Friday insem - GREAT! W went in for blood work today to double-check and somehow we missed ovulation completely -- by days. Im still grateful we had a fantastic 5-day vacation with our best friends and a relatively stress-free month, but I totally understand W's anger/disappointment/frustration at having to miss a cycle...2 attempts down and a 3rd missed and we are already feeling left out to dry by this whole process. The 8 attempts it took to finally get Izzy felt long, but lucky - has our patience totally waned? Are we just impatient, feeling like we "deserve" an easy run at it? I dont know why, but we are both feeling a bit hopeless...
But my ever-logical-planner-mind is looking forward - as we tee-up for a 'fresh' cycle at the end of June in CA (hopefully!). Its been interesting to re-hash these same conversations with KD; our timing, his extra-curricular activities and just plain schedule coordination.
We are pretty much neck and neck in this whole thing with one of my college roommates (straight). Her son just turned two and they had hoped to have the deal sealed by now. While cost isn't an issue for them (obviously), its been really interesting to see how the process has really put a strain on their relationship, not to mention their sex life...I cant say that Im _glad_ not to be doing this the "old fashioned way" but it really does change the dynamic and emotions.
As is always the case with this crazy world of TTC, the silver (or maybe gold) lining is that we had an amazing time away with our friends. Izzys new phase of Memorial Day weekend was "Watch THIS" (aka - Waaa DIS!) - followed but some adorable act of todder cuteness or more likely some "naughty" act of toddler cuteness. She also repeats EVERYTHING that you say, which, for a weekend away with this crew was not always the most PG. In other news, her latest trick is eating cereal, which is a total mess but also hilarious as she slurps up the milk before chomping with delight on the puffs of cereal.
And now for some snaps - we clearly spent the entire time at the beach!

I love the "was dis!". What a cutie.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't really planning ttc again yet, but I can already tell I will have even less patience this time. It just seems like we figured it out and it should just WORK now, right? Good luck to you.
She is too cute! Love that she needs an audience for her naughtiness. Sorry about the cycle weirdness. The whole process is just such a mindf^%$ sometimes.
