Im not sure when kids actually develop a sense of humor or the ability to pretend, but it seems like Izzy is at the verge of possessing some of my favorite human traits! Three days in, and 15 months is my new favorite age!
Its been at least 2 months since she "got" the concept of "teasing" -- for better (running towards us but then just as she reaches us, dashing in the other direction with a HUGE grin and sequel of glee) or worse (reaching out to the dog with a treat or one of his toys before snatching it away or pretending to drop something off the table, only to pull it back up when we give a stern look). We try not to laugh when she does it, but sometimes its hard....
But in the last few days, she seems more amused by the "silly" things she does -- laughing while she does things that she knows aren't right, -- saying "Izzy bath" and trying to climb in the tub with her clothes on OR pretending consciously pretending to do something -- like saying "bye-bye" and acting like she is taking a nap, before jumping up with a huge giggle...I mean, Im not planning to call Colbert any day soon, but she seems so amused by herself and starting to understand the world of "play" .... I LOVE it!

awesome! we're seeing some more sophisticated humor starting around here, too, and i freakin' love it!
