Sleep!

I have about 3 un-challenge posts in various stages of complete, but given that it is an UNchallenge, i feel no guilt...but I did miss some good questions!

oh well -- things are MUCH better in these parts due to the re-emergence of *sleep* -- a week into the sleep training, we are not sure who is training who, but... -- if nothing else, it has helped us define a bedtime routine we are all happy with, and on a good night she nods off to sleep during the routine (I guess that is cheating, but..we take it!)...The longest she has gone has been 38 minutes and then she is too exhausted and falls asleep. If we could find a way to tape, ur, keep the paci in her mouth, I think she could actually get to sleep on her own every night. She is *almost* able to keep the paci in with her hands, but she is still a bit too spastic and just knocks it out and then gets frustrated...And her fingers are not quite as soothing at this point as ours...but progress is progress and we might try to un-swaddle her next week so that she can learn to master the thumb/finger suck or paci-replace...

in even bigger news, Izzy got her first tooth! After a week of drolly, hand-gnawing pain - it has emerged! So long gummy smile, our little lady is growing up!

Its amazing how much she has grown up this month..Her dexterity has improved 100% and she is a little person so much more these days....it feels like every few days she masters a new skill. She LOVES music (Raffi is sadly a stable in our house these days) and actually pays attention when you are reading her a story (of course, her favorite part is turning the pages really quickly)...

Tomorrow she is 5 months -- Crazy!

  1. wow, i'd say that's success indeed! glad you've found a routine that's working. there's a great local radio show on 88.9 sat/sun nights for kids (the playground). i think you can listen/download online. you know, for when you get sick of raffi! :)
