Lupron (of the micro-variety) starts tomorrow, G-F pens on Saturday, W is loaded up with supplements from her amazing new acupuncturist and, here we are, Memorial DAy weekend as we dive into IVF #2. As you probably know by now, I love anniversaries.
To flash back: This was the weekend, 3 years ago, that we found out we were pregnant with izzy. As we headed to Ptown for a weekend of adult-frolicking with our bestest friends, I got the call from Dr. G with my beta results. It was a crazy way to spend the weekend -- thinking that by the next year, we would be in SUCH a different place. And we were -- that year, we dragged 101 lbs of baby gear to continue the tradition of Ptown fun. Last year, this was the cycle that the big-horrible-fertility factory said we "missed" W's ovulation and so we drank our sorrows up and down commercial street. THIS year, we are traveling with the same group of our closest friends for a much tamer weekend in Vermont -- we are trading crowded restaurants and bars, young "hook-ups" and loud music for cows, covered bridges and some mud-puddle jumping. And somehow, I know that by next year, we will have completed our family, whether that means having a newborn, being pregnant or having decided that we are more than happy with all that we have.
I am feeling less anxious about this IVF cycle. Not more confident exactly, but less anxious that with every call there could be bad news. And that, my friends, is a good place to be.
