While we are both feeling DONE with this whole process, W decided she might prefer letting her body "do its thing" instead of getting a D&C. This seems to make sense to me, based on what Dr H and others have said, plus we arent waiting on the next cycle (or even the one after that, most likely) to try again so there is no rush, per se.
The Plan? Well, of course we have one. Out of our six tries so far, she has gotten pregnant twice -- not bad odds. We will probably start trying again in January or February, with at least a few cycles using the trigger, and possibly clomid or something similar. While we are eager to have a baby, it just doesnt seem like the leap to IVF should be our next step given our 1 out of 3 success rate. Starting in December, W's (pathetic) fertility coverage kicks in -- FWIW, 5 grand is 5 grand, but it wouldn't come close to covering an IVF try and putting all our eggs (as it were!), literally, in one basket feels like too much pressure. We are hoping we can use insurance for 5ish IUI cycles -- after which we will either be pregnant (!!) or headed west to the land of 'live goods' and just about to transition to a new job/insurance plan (hopefully with coverage and maternity leave!). Either way, it will make IVF more palatable to have given it the ol' college try, plus timing-wise, its more sane.
So thats where we are...the storm yesterday gave us a chance to hunker down and fill our afternoon toddler-style - potato painting, pumpkin carving and cookie-baking. Life ain't bad at all...
