December?!

With December nipping at our toes, I cant believe how busy the next few weeks will be, how they will rush by and it will be 2013 -- and yet, how slow some days feel. Last Thursday, exactly 3 weeks from the D&C, we both noticed a huge shift - we were feeling happy more often then not. Izzy's antics were leading to rolls of laughter when only a week ago they would have received a chuckle or snark. Things are feeling more like "normal" and our lives arent completely wrapped up in the miscarriage. W's 35th birthday was one of the best we've had in a while and the holiday spirit has caught us all.

Talk of concrete TTC is still verboten but we are looking at our calendars and thinking about when we will be ready to talk about it - when we will be ready to jump back in. W is under an enormous amount of stress preparing for a January 21st dissertation deadline so its probably reasonable to accept that our next cycle wont be until late January/February - i.e. not before Izzy's 2nd birthday - and nearly a year after W's first insem. Thats not what we wanted, but it is what is...so we are trying to feel more settled in the situation, because what else can we do...Plus, spending the next 2 months ignoring the hellish cycles of TTC and instead focusing on the hilariousness of toddlerhood- it could certainly be worse, much worse :)

  3. Toddler hilarity is pretty awesome, I have to say. I'm glad you're both feeling better.

We're kind of with you on coming rapidly up on a year of ttc 2.0, with no results. It's not what we had in mind either, but I have to keep reminding myself that when it does happen (and if we don't have at least some hope that it will happen, there's no point in trying), we'll be able to appreciate the pluses of whatever age gap we do end up with.
