Tri 2!

We have finally made it to the precious 12 week mark and into the 2nd trimester! I think Pluto is a bit confused about the whole 'less sick' after 12 weeks thing, as i've had a pretty bad past few days, but everyone assures me a brighter future, with less vomiting and more energy is on the horizon. We feel so lucky to have made it this far!

We went in yesterday for our scans, at first the little guy was all curled up and it was hard to get him/her to move, but after a bit of poking and some coughing, Pluto unfurled and started wiggling around with wild arm and leg kicks. It was crazy, we got a full tour around my inerds, in addition to lots of close-ups of our alien, ur, baby. We even got to hear the heartbeat for the first time (169 bpm). All and all, it was pretty awesome, we were so flooded with relief we didn't have time to feel excited until it was all over. Our "scores" all came back negative! (I think 1/4900 for downs and 1/5000 for whatever else they were testing, they flashed them in front of us so quickly we couldn't capture it all). The tech reminded us that they weren't conclusive until they did the second round of tests at week 20, but for now, we are thrilled. Pluto is measuring right on schedule and other than an anterior placenta (which makes it hard to hear the heartbeat on a Doppler) there wasn't much more to report. The best part was that she gave us TONS of photos.

It looks so cramped in there, hopefully by our next scan there will be a bit more room to roll around!

It seems to finally have set in for us that we might actually be pregnant and thus, might actually have a baby at the end of all this. Both W and are superstitious by nature, so don't want to get too excited, but we cant seem to help ourselves. We have started to tell people, which is also really fun! Wow..
