June 20th is our wedding anniversary (3 years!) and the day after is my parent's wedding anniversary (43 years!)..but the day BEFORE (ie June 19th) will always be remembered as our family anniversary. Tomorrow, W is adopting Iz. In MA its an easy and painless (al be it, somewhat expensive) process -- but "good to do." We are both on Izzy's birth certificate but since we have a KD, he had to legally give up his parental rights and our lawyer felt very strongly that we go through with the adoption too (see prior sentence on cost), but, I guess its "good to do".
From what Ive heard its a 10-minute wham-bam, but we decided to invite W's mom and sister (who are both done with the semester too - ah, a family of academics) and then go out to brunch to celebrate! You know, to make it more festive.
We leave on Friday for 8 weeks in CA so our house is a mess, our lives are chaotic and its not exactly the time I want to take a 1/2 day to go legally "become a family" but, its probably "good to do" :)
Ill post pics tomorrow -- assuming there is anything photo-worthy....otherwise, HAPPY SUMMER!
