6 months

6 month olds are amazing. W and I are always saying that when Izzy turned 4 months she transitioned from being a cute blob to a fun baby. But the transition at 6 months is incredible. She is a fun little PERSON! Its definitely true what they say, babies come out of the womb with a personality and we certainly have our hands full. She's a little tornado of activity and giggles but really clear about her likes/dislikes. Whenever people say "we have such a chill baby" -- I think, wow, we DON'T. "Spirited" is probably the nice way to say it, but we generally just refer to her as our little honey-badger (youtube the reference if you aren't familiar). The glint in her eye when she is eying a cord or something else she definitely should NOT be chewing on is so determined, it's hilarious.

The long and short of it is that 6 months has been a big month for us. Izzy has embraced solids with gusto, is FINALLY starting to get the hand of soothing herself to sleep (after a week of real-time sleep training we finally have a baby who sleeps for more than 3 hour stretches!!!) and most importantly, she is MOBILE. Yup, this past weekend, we were not so much hit by Irene, but Tropical Storm Izzy, as 2 days cooped up in the house = plenty of damage around these parts :)
